Our Values & CSR

Our Values & CSR

At Foodservice Equipment Marketing Ltd (FEM), our fundamental values of growth, innovation and sustainability lead all aspects of our business.

Organisational Structure

FEM is the master distributor for leading foodservice equipment manufacturers in the UK and Ireland with established partnership agreements with leading manufacturers of both foodservice smallwares and equipment.

We supply our product portfolio through a network of catering equipment dealers and national chains located in the UK and Ireland through a global supply chain with our manufacturer partners.

FEM is based in East Kilbride, near Glasgow, where large stocks of products are held in our warehouse.  Sales Representatives are also located throughout the UK and Ireland.

Our Sustainable Promise

Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM) is dedicated to supplying innovative and sustainable products for your operation with dedicated partnerships with world-leading manufacturers of equipment solutions.  All of the manufacturers we work with are committed to sustainable operations, like corporate recycling programs using recycled raw materials in the manufacturing process and continued investment in energy-efficient manufacturing to eliminate excessive power consumption.

We work with our manufacturers in providing you with equipment solutions that save time, money, waste and energy as part of our environmental awareness and stewardship strategy.

In terms of our business practices, we have now moved to paperless invoicing, recycle and shred old paper and catalogues etc to be used as packaging for new orders, and are constantly looking at new ways to be a more sustainable business.

Delivery of Goods

We use sustainable environmentally aware couriers such as DPD and the Palletforce to deliver our goods to customers.

We have a long partnership with DPD and Palletforce.  For deliveries up to 30kg, we utilise DPD which operates real-time tracking and can provide tracking updates periodically.  DPD have over 1500 electric vehicles operating throughout the UK and is driving forward their ‘green’ initiative to become the UK’s largest all-electric delivery fleet.

For larger bulk deliveries we use the Palletforce network which is able to provide proof of delivery following the delivery of goods.  The Palletforce model is one of the most sustainable in the UK, reducing emissions by ensuring central delivery and using trucks at over 85% capacity, much higher than the industry average.  The Palletforce network also provides proof of delivery following the delivery of goods.

Supply Chain Standards

FEM maintains strong partnerships with all of our manufacturers with a dedicated stock and logistics team who continually works with our manufacturing partners to bring stock into our warehouse as quickly as possible.  We aim to provide accurate lead times and offer alternatives where appropriate.  Additionally, we can offer expedited air freight rates where necessary to ensure customers have the equipment they need when they need it.

In order to negate current supply chain issues and shortages, we have increased our stock hold significantly over the past few months, to avoid product supply issues for our customers and dealer network as much as possible.  Our stock and logistics teams continuously review our stock levels and lead times, making changes where required in order to maintain our stock availability.

Our People

As a family-run business, we are committed to being an inclusive and fair employer offering fair and equal pay rates and bonus schemes.  We ensure fair employment terms for all of our colleagues and believe in developing individuals on a professional level, demonstrating our commitment to our colleagues.

The health, safety and welfare of our colleagues are paramount, we ensure our colleagues are protected with regular risk assessments to ensure a healthy and safe working environment and that our people are fully trained where necessary.

We ensure our people have the right equipment, training and knowledge to fulfil their job roles and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

FEM continuously works with our manufacturing partners to help train and educate internal and external sales teams on different product ranges to ensure we provide the best advice to customers and end-users on the equipment we supply.

The most important part of our business is our people.
